New words: “beer” and “Chick-fil-A”
Mama doesn’t have anything to say about that.
Jared is 100% better, and happy to be eating “real food” again.
I went to the Galleria on Saturday to buy stockings, and I think I must have looked like a credit card — that seemed to be the general idea for the populace, anyway. Save me from this Babylon, it is out of control. The funny-sad thing: the Galleria is two blocks from my house, and it’s still not convenient!
One of our residents is back from spending a month in the Jordan area. That’s his native land, and where his wife lives, since she is having Visa troubles getting to the States to live with her husband. His job expertise, computer security, would be very low-paying in Jordan, but is hugely successful here. He’s about ready to give it up, just to find a way to be close to his spouse. There are so many crazy issues when it comes to relocating married couples to the States. Another couple who lives here isn’t doing well in their marriage, and there are deportation possibilities for her associated with that (having a child involved is all the worse). We met a third foreign couple, and simply watching their husband-wife dynamics made me so thankful to be an American, where we treat each other with a different kind of partnership. Those are my solemn thoughts for the day.
Happy thoughts: It’s almost vacation time! Jared and I are gaining more time with each other, although that’s still a little crazy. I’m blessed that he is so driven to find a career that’ll afford him time with us — grad school’s getting tiresome on that account. CARES is a blessing, but we admit the combination is a handful. Having a home base is important.
Pasta Carbonara tonight for my healthfully hungry family!
