“The whole purpose of religion is to facilitate love and compassion, patience, tolerance, humility, forgiveness.” –H.H. the Dalai Lama
I found this today, and it irritates me. To disagree with the Dalai Lama, the purpose of religion is to discover why we’re here and what it means. Nowhere else will the above virtues hold a substance of meaning and origin. And, I say, to worship. Religion isn’t just about discovery. “But there is a God in heaven….” (Dan. 2:28), and this life is for worshiping the One True God.
