We have internet! I am back in action.
Our new place has fantastic lawn space, which Noah has been thoroughly enjoying. We can see the light rail line from our window, and it’s a snap for Jared to get to work. We’ll begin CARES-ing in April. I’m not in love with our kitchen, which feels like a big deal since I like to cook for events and for us, but I’m hoping I’ll grow into it, and all the solutions will work themselves out.
Here’s a development about our new living situation: we decided not to have the television connected. It’s plugged into the DVD player, but that’s all. It’s kinda peaceful. We have our favorite news magazine, and well, goodbye to the brothel box, as we’ve come to call it.
Last night, Jared and I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. We’re done! We’ve (finally?) completed the series. I was worried about Book 7, part of why it took us so long to read. After being disenchanted with Book 6, either it would make or break the series. But yes, I would let my child read the series — maybe not this year. :) Themes of courage, purity, fellowship, sacrifice, working together to overcome evil. It echoes in all the good stories, Harry Potter, too, and brilliantly, and with a wand.
This is my birthday weekend! Happy weekend to all.
